Experience Music Together and find out how important--and how fun--your role can be!

Our Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. We'll help you provide your child with the basic musical skills needed to enjoy school and social musical activities, and to study an instrument should he or she choose to do so.

WHAT ARE MUSIC TOGETHER CLASSES LIKE?
Music Together classes are based on the belief that
music is as much a basic life skill as walking and talking.
Music is brain food for children. Plato once said Music 'is a more potent instrument than any other for education'.
Music Together actively engages the children in the
FUN of music making by singing, dancing, and playing instruments instead of passively receiving it from CD's or television.

Key to Music Together is the idea that young children respond best to music when surrounded by those with whom they have a close bond.
Regardless of your background in music, you can give your child a love of music.

Twelve children and their parents, grandparents, or caregivers meet for 45 minutes each week for ten weeks. They experience new songs, chants, large & small motor movement activities, and instrument jam sessions.

Parents and children know the songs and chants from the Two CD's, SONGBOOK and Parent Guide that they are given to take home and enjoy.

Adults, regardless of musical ability, find it fun and easy to help create an environment that supports any child in achieving basic music competence. Children of mixed ages participate at their own level by singing, moving, chanting, listening and
exploring musical instruments.

Each semester we offer a different collection of specially composed, delightful and highly accessible songs, both original and traditional.
The participation and modeling of parents and caregivers is essential to a child's musical growth. Young children's musical growth occurs best in a playful, musically rich, and developmentally appropriate setting, free of direct instruction and performance pressure, where learning activities are interesting, and fun for both children and adults.
